Awesome! I like these snap, promo style kits for a quick and easy build!

Especially recent efforts from Revell/Monogram. Add some flocking, maybe some photoetched badges and such, a killer paint job and ya have you a nice little project/display piece!

I built the early version of their Corvette and replaced the gauge "STICKERS" with photo reduced items I found on the internet. Printed them out at home then took 'em to the copy center. I reduced several of them to approximate sizes I needed, then had them laser printed in reverse onto a sheet of transparency film. Once I got 'em home, I sprayed the backs with flat white, cut 'em out and glued them into place. Looked just like the real gauges "under glass"!!!

Yeah, you're right, generally speaking you need brake pads in the callipers for them to work.

Just wondering, how could you tell there weren't any pads in the callipers?

Re: REVELL C6 Corvette Convertible

Yes, I meant calipers....Anyway. Revell still hasn't fixed the plastic compound.

Edit: I was gonna make a progress thread. But it's not worth it. Here's the mess. The paint..I know..
I tried tamiya gold, and gunze and tamiya clear oranges untill It was dark enough for ME

The paint would probably stick better if you actually cleaned it first, not just from the bag to the paint stand.

Re: REVELL C6 Corvette Convertible

I was looking for this kit to, but since it's a snap kit, I will probably grab the Hardtop version.

Thanks for showing us this new kit!

Something tells me Frank knows that Steve, what he is referring to is Revell's super new cheap plastic which crazes if you even so much as show it a paint bottle. There've been several threads about it already

Stickers instead of decals. Screw that friggin' nonsense . I'll wait for a Z06 and not worry about a droptop C6. One less kit to worry over...no big deal.
