I own a '97 Taurus 3.0 engine and Iwithin the last 2 weeks I am unable to Shift from P to Drive; in addition my stop lights died. I changed the fuses, the stoplight switch and still nothing. Any suggestions as to what I'm missing here. Any help greatly appreciated! Thank you

Re: Transmission & Brake lights
Did you check the wiring connection on the switch? This is also a weak spot on Fords.

If the voltage is not here, then perhaps there is a mechanical adjustment you can make to get the switch to close properly with the brake pedal depressed. I am not sure of that since I have not made that replacement before. If the voltage is coming out of the switch then you must have a wiring problem from that point on as has been suggested in the previous response. |
