2 door levin finished again

here is myae86 levin 2 door, i had a thread on it before, but it has changed quite a bit so i decided to start a new one. It has an s14 silvia chassis on it which gives it irs and also enabled me to create a neater engine bay. I will get pictures of this later when my camera is recharged. You can also see my almost scratch built 4agte engine, the cam covers are taken from a fujimi aw11 mr2 kit though, the rest is scratch built. I am quite happy with the result, excpet for the paint, but i can pretend it is meant to be drift spec or something :P. Enjoy...

Re: 2 door levin finished again

hey there it is! ... looks great, what kit did you use? I've been hoping to find an AE86 (with the flip-up headlights) that isn't curb side...

Re: 2 door levin finished again

yeah the exhaust does look a tad big in that photo, and it sticks out alot too.
And this is just the regular fujimi ae86 levin 2 door kit, it came curbside. Ive noticed that alot of kits are coming out with engines now, but this one wasnt very hard to scratch build at all, i used parts of the engine from an mr2 kit, which i think looks a bit better than the new 4ag engines which are available, but maybe not as accurate because of my scratchbuilding.
Ill try to get more pics today

Re: 2 door levin finished again

oh thats what i need photos of aswell. they will come tomorrow then.
the chassis isnt a great fit, i did it a bit rushed, but i basically took the whole 180sx bottom part and trimmed it to fit. its not realistic in that way, but the stock ae86 chassis isnt so great to modify for the irs i think. plus i was lazy :P

Re: 2 door levin finished again

okay, a pic of my not so tight fitting chassis. The detail under here is quite harsh and really needs to be cleaned up. Maybe some of you have suggestions??
Also another problem im having, the front bumper is slightly a different colour, so im thinking ill leave it off, or make it look damaged, but im scared to ruin my only levin front bumper:P

**edited, a pic would help

Re: 2 door levin finished again

okay this is getting bumped up with new pictures. i think i can finally call it finished and leave it now. after so long nothing more will be done to it, im not even going to clean up the bumpers because i want to start my next project (which is a 1955 bel air with an s14 roof and windows grafted onto it).
heres photos
