Re: 2001 Venture Left front Turnsignal - replacement
Are you replacing the whole unit or just the bulb? The unit that houses the turn signal is attached to the headlight unit. It then has 2 tabs that fit into slots in the front fender. I have removed both the headlight unit and the turn signal housing together when I needed to repair the lens on the headlight. It is a fairly easy operation to remove. The only problem I had was some of the nuts that are on the stud were really tight and difficult to remove. It sometimes can be a problem to reinstall the headlight/ turn signal housing and get everything to lineup correctly, you sometimes have to keep the studs loose and "jiggle" the 2 pieces to get everything to properly fit, and then tighten the studs, and make sure the tabs are back in their slots. If you are just replacing the bulb, you should be able to disconnect the turn signal housing from the headlight unit, and gain access to the bulb and socket. Gently twist the socket out of the housing and replace the bulb. It is also a good idea to put a little dielectric grease on the contacts in the socket to ensure a good electrical contact to the bulb. and ward off moisture.
