jesus, from the future?

i got this theory, well not really but i thought this might be fun tio talk about. well imagine this, it is way into the future and mankind is falling apart, there is no order, no leadership, no morals. so this scientist builds a time machine and is ordered to go back in time, say around the time of the roman empire, this would be a good time cause rome was the greatest nation of its day. he takes back some futuristic gizmos that he can use to fool some primitive 1st century people with and goes back in time to roughly 32ad. he uses his technology to convince everyone that he is the son of god, and teaches theese people many lessons. in turn he influences eveyone and eventually re inforces the morality of mankind. in return the people of his day now live in a civilized nation where everyone lives a good life because of what he instilled in those people thousands of years ago. that scientists name was Jesus.

Re: jesus, from the future?

this borders religion , but what they hay.
Sounds kinda like a theory i hav, about the bible. Insted of sending jesus back, they sent just the bible back(more easily reconstructed).

Then the aleins found out and hav been coming back here, creating jesus, and other miricles, trying to find the "good book". since they couldnt find it, they try scare tatics, like mutilating cattle and abducting humans(for occasional anal probing).
Just a crazy theory, you hav to think about something while your working. Lol

Re: jesus, from the future?

How about this:

All the "gods" from the Norse, Babylonian, Sumerian, Egyptian, Greek and other mythos were, in fact, aliens that were sent here, either voluntarily or as prisoners. They lived here, their technology making them much more powerful than humans. They interbred with the beings of those times, and created the "missing link" by doing so.

Re: jesus, from the future?

In all the infinite space of the universe, I highly doubt we are alone. And there are places far, far older than Earth, so who is to say that there haven't been civilizations, cultures, and even entire species elsewhere that have risen, explored the galaxies, colonized everything and then died off?

There are many science fiction stories wherein the galaxy is colonized, then the system breaks down and each planet is on their own. That may already have occurred here on Earth.

The start of this sounded a bit like the Stargate television series.
It's a very good premise for a sci-fi novel.

Actually I had mentioned this a while back that I saw this very same thing in a Off Limits episode, or maybe it was a Twilight Zone episode. It was very good, set in another world if I remember correctly. It made you think the posibilities.

TS out
