Bought a pound of HS-3 RTV and 28 oz of Alumilite Regular resin. HS3 is wonbderful stuff, takes a long time to cure, but if you mix it right and shake the bubbles out by setting the curing mold on air compressor for about 5 minutes, the molds come out great. This one had no bubbles whatsoever. It took 3 tries to get a good batch of resin though, with my mixing skills still in progress. But the third one cured nice and evenly, only two little bubbles. Sorry for the pciture quality
![]() Here's the mold. Nice and smooth, I like it! ![]() Clockwise from right: mold, stripped original, copied piece, chrome orignial ![]() Came out pretty good, very little flash. I'll be casting many many pieces from now on this is pretty fun

Re: Just began resin casting
Yep, you gotta admit, once you start casting your own parts, your modeling takes on a whole new perspective

Re: Just began resin casting
Thanks guys. I got a whole bag full of stuff just waiting to be molded and recast, including some scratchbuilt stuff (cam gears, anyone?)
