Questions i Have.

1. Whats the HP stock on a 91 Civic HB Si. I've wondered this ever sence i've gotten my Civic.

2. Do all 88-91 Civic HB Si's have Tach's on them? I wonder this cause im thinking about buying another 4th Gen Civic they say its an Si i've just seen the body they took off the Si emlem in the back they said but its 70 HP and doesnt have a Tach.

3. What are all these engines you guys talk about? haha I'm 15 just got my first car 91 Civic Si Hatch in about a year if i dont wreck the shit out of it i want an engine swap i was thinking a DOHC Vtec 160 HP from Jspec Engines. But i dont know any other selection.

4. What kind of paint should i use on my interior? I have already painted my interior but when I even lay a scratch on it the paint comes off i used regular spray paint(im very illiterate about cars, thats why im here to learn)

5. I Buy products off ebay, are pretty much all products rip offs? I baught a pair of RS Limited Wheels 17x7 they look like racing hart look alikes i got them for 400. I also baught my intake off there but one of my friends who owns 2 forth gen hatch's and 2 preludes said the filters that people usually sell of ebay are made of paper and if get to hot can start on fire.

6. Where are cheap places i can get Forth Generation Parts? I look everywhere but each site has very little selection. My car is sponcer'ed by a local shop called Highway Battle Motorsports, they have best prices in town but still i dont have a job the money i have is the money i hustle for with making music(I own a production Company www.mp3.com/narkotik).

7. When i come out of Sharp turns under my hood it sounds theres a rattle until i pull my car strait. I have no clue what it is but i need it fixed its very embarrising haha.

I have more but i have to get going I Will postthem later i hope someone can help me with these questions.

I have a couple of the answers

to 1. 108 Hp is the stock HP for a 91 Si

2. All civic Si's had tachs. the civic with no emblem, 70 HP and no tach is not a Si. its a base model or STD as we call it.

3. the diff engines you can do are on this page.
http://www.4thgenerationcivic.com . go there and click on the engines link on the side.

Hi Bryan...welcome to the board most peeps here are very helpful. I can only answer the same 3 Q's that 88CiViC_DX above me did - haha...I am sure someone else will have some other answers for you.

first off if any place on your car other than maybe right on top of your exhast is getting hot enough to cause paper to combust you have some major probs... even the exhaust shouldn't get hot enough for fire... maybe burn if its in direct contact but not combust... and you should get a K&N filter to replace it anyway... oh yeah... what do ya think the stock filter is made of

check out the interior/exterior forum for help on the painting... the ppl in there could prolly help ya better.

and for the parts... like ya said look around at differnt places...

as for ur turning problem, it might be your shocks, or your tie rods or even the drive axle is falling out of place.

what's up man? I'm 15 too. Got the car when I was like 12 or 13 though. It stayed at my grandparents house til I was 14. Yeah the stock Si hp was 108 or 109 depends on who you ask. The STD(the one I have) had like 78 hp and no tach. This was due to diff. cams, headers, and fuel injection systems, and some other things I can't think of.
Ebay isn't bad as long as you trust who you're buying from.
400 is a pretty good deal on the wheels, I got mine for $500 with toyos but they're only 15's.
Hmmm... cheap places to get parts... what kind of parts do you want? www.nopi.com's E-cat is always a good place to start, and Ebay's good too.
The turn problem sounds like an axle but don't take my word for it, it's hard to narrow something down from just what it sounds like, it could just be the cb joints. Get someone to check it out.
they make vinyl paint for the interior, just clean off the surface really good and sand it really really lightly and it should stick.
I think that answers mostly everything, or makes a good guess at least. Good luck with the steerin problem, it shouldn't be too expensive.

If it is the axle or axles then you're going to have to get new ones. Now that I think about it though it's probably just your cb joints, which will require new ones too. Does it do it when you turn both ways or just one way? rather does it do it worse to the right or to the left?

I painted my interior when i bought my car and then realized how retarded it looked and then i had to spend lots of $$$ just to replace all the crap that i've painted to make the car look normal again. Seriously, i wouldnt do it if i were you.

Im in the middle of painting my interior, I sat in this guys rex done in all white and it was amazing! It only looks good based on two circumstances, 1: It is done right! (Ive wasted so much paint on my center console on redoing it) and 2: You dont leave half the car painted stock (if you wanna paint you gotta do it all!)

I wont be done for another 2 months or so because I hafta do seats in white and grey vinyl, everything im doing by myself and getting my mom to sow/stitch the seats together (any help i can get right? )

To work with spray paint is very TEDIOUS! you hafta get the painting skills, its taken me quite a few months to get the center console to my liking without drips, etc. (Ive painted and scraped it off over 5 times). But now its all clear coated and shiny smooth and looks great, I will start on other projects next weekend.

All of this can be done with 2 stores (canadian tire and fabricland) Well for me at least...

Ill have pics once im done, in a long time.
