Impala vs alero

I have an 01 impala 3.4 my buddy has 01 Alero 3.4 and we've raced. From a dead stop my Impala walks off and leaves him. If we are side by side on the hwy and we both hit it, he pulls away from me like I wasn't even trying. We both have aftermarket CAT's, CAI's and that's the similarities. I also have a tornado air system installed and that's about it. He has done that by-pass thing with the throttle body and a racing muffler. I know I need to toss the OEM muffler and go with something else. I'm just not sure what to use. His car sounds like those ricer's adn I hate it.

I am wanting a throttle body spacer does anyone know who makes them? Any other suggestions?

Re: Impala vs alero

The biggest difference between your Impala and your buddy's Alero is the weight. The Alero is a lot lighter. Curb weight is around 3100 lbs. The final drive gearing on most Aleros is 3.05:1.

The 62mm throttle body from RSM Racing does wonders for the 3.4L. Also you might consider getting an underdrive crankshaft pulley.
