1986 Camaro 2.8

I currently have a 1986 Camaro 2.8 I belive their rated at 130hp, which isisint a whole lot. I am willing to get it up to some more power. I got duel eqhaust and 2 big Boom Flow tubes out the back. I got 135,000km on the engine which is next to nothing. I wanna get the Turbonator from www.turbonator.com which will give me 35 HP that gets me up to 165. Im gettin a RPM guage put in to see what rpms im running at. Are there any suggestions that are not to expensive but will get my HP up as fast as possible? I would appreciate it thanks

PAUL

Turbonator... That name's a joke in itself.

If you want big power fast get nitrous but you'll only take a small shot on that engine unless you get it forged internals

turbonater....ha ha ha biggest scam ever. dot even think of that thing. plus i had a 2.8 maro, the best mod i did was a msd ignition blaster coild, nice thick spark plug wires, and some ghetto intake mods. just like descreen the mass air flow sensor, cut that box out where the air filters are or drill some big ass holes if it is multi port fuel injected, and get some k and n air filters.

Re: 1986 Camaro 2.8

(if your 2.8 is carburated i dont know if this is the same.)not sure about how much hp, but thats the mod that i felt the biggest difference when i did it. i bought mine for 45 dollars at autozone. the stock one is located on its own bracket with a litle blak cylender thing, lol, some vaccume hoses, and thats it. its hels down with 2 bolts. its a black boxish thing with 2 electrical connectors plugged into it and a spark plug wire plugged into it from the distributer. its riveted in so you have to take out the whole bracket and to do that you have to take off the egr valve and the pipe its on from the exhaust manifold. then take off the upper alternator bracket if you have to, and then unbolt the 2 bolts and dssconnect all the wires conected to the stuff on the bracket. then drill out the 4 rivet things on the old coil, replace with the msd coil and bolt in with included hardware. reassemble. heres a link to the one you need> http://msdignition.com/coil_blaster_5_8226.htm
