Newest Calmini Rear bumper replacement

Looks nice

"Finally, a rugged rear bumper that does it all for the Xterra! Our new replacement bumper replaces the center stock bumper panel. Made from 3/16" steel plate, It has integrated 5/16" tow points, 2" class 3 (5000lbs. Auto Trans Models only) hitch receiver, and a fully one handed operation swing away tire/accessory carrier. The swinging tire beam is constructed from rigid 2" x 3" rectangular tube and pivots on self lubricating Delrin bushings, and ramps into place and rides on a squeak-free Delrin block. Tire carrier features adjustable depth for different offset rim centers and widths. License plate mount re-uses factory lamp assembly. This bumper is fully bolt-on, no drilling required. Coated in durable semi gloss black powder coating.

No shit eh?

I think it looks very nice. The biggest complaints being the side wings and the Class 2 hitch have been resolved. Looks like a nice piece of equipment. Most anything else that would be needed would be cake to add to the design.

"mounts with zip ties and crazy glue. scratch off rust at ends of unfinished bumper and take a sawzall to the frame to score it. To get the bumper close enough to the frame rails hit repeatedly with sledgehammer. Once the bumper is aligned in the right place, get out your plasma welder and set it to 4000 degrees, witha .2 micron bead. sear edges slightly and fuse bumper to frame, taking into acount the harmonic resonance of the bumper material, if you are beyond .2 microns, fussion may occur, enveloping the Xterra, and anything within 24 feet in a ball of white light, completely obliterating living matter, and leaving all electronics useless. An easy DIY job."

Hey looks almost exactly like mine, right down to the license plate mounting! Well, except that it's straight and nicely finished from the factory!

Yeah, that looks really nice and much better than the last Calmini we saw. It's good to know that Calmini is listening. As Schlud mentioned though, it would be really nice to see the bumper off of the truck to see how it mounts and how it is built in general.

$750 is less than the KMA once you get done fixing it too, so I'd have to say it looks like a winner so far. If only I could have waited!

Talking Tire!!!

Jesus, that must be a 35' tire mounted on the swing arm! It takes up the whole back window! I guess I'll be ordering a Calmini bumper in February when the refund rolls around!

crap...

Aw crap, now I have to come up with $750. That's great looking. I couldn't find anything to complain about. Well, maybe matte powder coat instead of semi-gloss... But that's picking nits. I see no reason why I should not get one of those when I find the $$.

just remember you have to find the money for shipping most likely. and that thing will most likely have to go motor freight. FEDEX ground should take it too. but look for the shipping cost to be about $60-$90 from what i had to pay for the KMA to be shipped. that thing is going to weigh 120 lbs. also plan on upgrading your rear suspension with a new spring pack or as a stop gap get nissan to replace your stock spring pack, then install AALs and better shocks.

That's the equivalent of a 32" inch tire (on a 16" rim). Synchro's, Will's, FSR's, and mine look the same way.

Cool Optical illusion

Mr. T...maybe it is just the angle from which the picture is taken? Looking upward! I'll still buy one in February!

Finally...

It looks like I'm going to have to head up to Bakersfield here really soon. I've always thought the Xterra needed a rear tire carrier - this one is it!

Thanks to Steve at CalMini for listening to our gripes and moans. I know many of us in the So. Cal area talked with him personally.
