Changing an alternator on a dodge pick up
I think I have a problem alternator on my 1996 Dodge sport pick-up Can anyone give me somewhat detailed instructions on how to chnage it

Dreamtwister, it's a pretty straightforward procedure.
First step is to remove the serpentine belt. The procedure is in your owner's manual, but basically you find the tensioner, put the right size wrench on it to relieve the tension, and slip the belt off. If you don't have the routing diagram for the belt, make one before you remove it. Next, you'll do the swap on the alternator. There should be two bolts holding it in place, and some electrical connections. I'd do the electricals first, being careful not to break anything. Once you have that disconnected and out of the way, loosen and remove the bolts holding the alternator. Installation is reverse of removal. Good luck with it...

Probably want to remove the negative battery cable first before you start removing connections from the alternator.
