Question Bose Speaker Connector??

Waddup Forum Peeps!!

I seriously need your help...well, here's a recap...

A couple of days ago, I noticed one of my rear speakers was "staticky"...so I called my dealer up and asked them what's up with that?....they said "..well since the car is still under 60,000 miles to bring the car in because it should be covered under warranty..."

Now they're telling me that...ahe-ahem..quote" the connectors to the speakers are broken...to replace it will be $439 installed..." end-quote.

I guess my question is...where can I get this connector from? And can I do this myself without hassle...I mean...$439 dollars??!!?? Geez...

Well i'm not a stereo guru or anything, but here's a suggestion. Before you go spending that much money you might want to press your warranty on them, it should be covered. If you insist on doing it yourself (or rather, if they insist ) then check the wires at your head unit and at the speaker. It could be as simple as a loose wire, or perhaps the wires are touching eachother. Take it into a car audio specialist and see if they can locate the problem, but don't rely on the dealer. Chances are, they don't know a whole lot about stereo equipment.

Hey, thanx for giving me the 411...

...I had a feeling my dealership was rippin me off.

I asked them if it was under warranty...and their response was "...Well, the speaker is under warranty...but not the connector (that is broken) is under warranty....if we return this to BOSE, they wouldn't honor it..."

Whatever that means!!

...guess my next step is to have one of my guy friends take a look at it...before I have to purchase new speakers.
