You do not want to buy from ssautocrome. Their stuff is shit and will break after a couple runs. They look appealing to the eye but are junk. Try the one from dsmparts.com. It's about $450 but is worth it...

Re: Exhaust manifold

Just out of curosity... Do you have any experience with ssautocrome? just cause it's cheap doesn't mean it's shit. Notice it has a lifetime warranty against cracks. I don't know of any other companies that offer that. I've had mine on for over a year but i geuss that is only a couple runs...

There have been a lot of posts on here about ssautochrome. All of them tell how shitty their products are, and not to buy from them. Maybe you got lucky lol.

Re: Exhaust manifold

Yeah SSAutoChrome has a shitty reputation for a reason.

Re: Exhaust manifold

I had a SSautochrome turbo manifold for my SR20DET. Worked beautifully. Only flaw was that it didn't stay 'chrome', once you got it hot under heavy loads (high boostorzz!) it stripped all the pretty off and turned black.

Big deal.

Re: Exhaust manifold

The success of an exhasut manifold depends on the meterial it is created from. Unlike most parts of the engine, Exhaust manifolds are suppose to retain as much heat energy as possable. Using the wrong kind of metal will extreamly distroy this effectivness. Not to mention sheer off Bolts, warp flanges and give off high amounts of heat into your engine bay.

They say its made of Stainless Steel. I Wont trust anyone unless they specify the exact metal composit.

Re: Exhaust manifold

stay away, it won't fit correctly without major modification and it will break eventually

When I eventually get a better turbo. I want to get all new oil lines and coolant lines. I also want a better manfold then the 1g. Now would an evo mani bolt on? or is true they require some moddification? If that is true, I might just go with a 2g manifold(that bolts right up right?). Thanks.

Re: Exhaust manifold

I would say stay away from ssautochrome, but with the lifetime warranty I'd check it out. Make sure that modifying the flanges does not violate the warranty because the ssautochrome manifolds are notorious for being slightly warped. It's your choice, personally I would try to go with an sbr manifold, tried and proven.

Re: Exhaust manifold

I've heard good and bad about ssautochrome... I guess its just a gamble if ya do it... I personally wouldn't trust em. My friend did and had no problem with them or the manifold but I still am unsure of them... Just my 2cents though.
