I had 50K service yesterday. I drove the truck for a couple of hours afterward with no issues. Today I drove it about 5 mi., stopped, got back in and started the engine and got the message "Check Eng Oil Level". I checked it & it looks fine. I cycled the engine and it still comes on. Any ideas?

Re: 2000 Chevy Silverado 5.3L
have it taken to a garage, see if they can reset/what ever they do to the computer, maybe its stuck thinking there's no oil an it literally needs to be told its fine. diagnostics should do the trick, if not maybe they bugger'd it during the service, the sensor that is.

Re: 2000 Chevy Silverado 5.3L
Yup. Quick way to do it is disconnect the negative terminal, switch the key on, let it sit for 5 minutes, key off, battery back on. Probably won't work though since that light is just connected directly to the sensor on the oil pan. Don't think it has a thing to do with the ECM. Pretty sure the sensor is on the passenger side. Chances are its a loose or shorted wire to that sensor or a bad sensor.
