Exclamation 98 Taurus Electric problem

98 Taurus Door ajar light 'beeps' on and off intermitently and sometimes interior rear dome light flashes with it. Disconnecteed rear door switches on 'tailgate' but still 'beeps'. Seems worse when 'hot or damp out'?
Any advice

Re: 98 Taurus Electric problem

Spray lubricant inide latches and open and close doors a few times. One of the door latches is hanging occasionally causing this to happen.

Re: 98 Taurus Electric problem

The door ajar switches are located internal to the door latch mechanism. Rather than using a lubricant in the switches, I suggest using a good electrical parts cleaner. Of course, numerous people on this forum suggest and have had good luck with WD-40, but I don't recommend that since it is not an electrical parts cleaner.
