90 Accord LX Brake Replacement?
OK, When I am going over 60 and hit my brakes, I get the dredded steatring wheel shake. Now I was going to havea friend help me replace the front brakes because he thinks that my rotors are warped. Now he says that the whole bearing assembly has to come apart to take the rotors off, and says that this will take quite some time. Does this sound right?

I can't say for sure on a '90, but on my '89 LXi you don't have to take the bearings apart, and I would tend to think they didn't change the design that radically in '90.
On my '89, you have to unbold the brake caliper to get it out of the way, and then remove two philips-head screws that hold the rotors in place. The rotor just slips off over the wheel studs. |
