Help pls! Brake lights don't work :(

So I replaced the fuse and still dead. Wondering what I can check myself before I pull up to a mechanic. Thank you so much.

Did you check the bulbs?

Have you checked for power to the bulbs?

Have you checked for power to the brake switch?

Have you checked for power out of the brake switch with the pedal depressed?

I had one car were all the brake light bulbs were burnt out, when one go's the others will soon follow.

Start with a new, or a known good brake light bulb.

Nope. I just learned where the fuse box is. Trying to learn on my own so I'm lost in this car lingo. I appreciate the advice!

Was the fuse blown ??

As mentioned, check the operation of the switch & check for voltage at the switch & on the other terminal leading to the bulbs when pedal is pressed.

Why did you start with the fuse?

Try to replace a bulb for starters.

Good luck,

Sam

ok with brake lights theres only so many things it can be odds are its your break switch. Get low by your pedal and look up press the pedal in with your hand you should notice the pedal is actually pushing a button like switch. That is your brake switch. If you dont have a dvom(digital meter) or a test light get a pair of old christas tree lights out and cut one off and use it as your test light to see if your getting any power
