s/c pulley leak

the other day i had my car parked on the side of the road. i noticed the smell of supercharger fluid and i opened the hood. it was leaking right out of the end where the bolt is that holds the pulley on. my guess is that the coupler is bad. its making the ticking noise like it is bad. i was just curious if the coupler was the seal for it. or if there is a different seprate seal.

also i was told that at colder temperatures the gtp actualy has about 2-3 lbs more of boost. if i was to tell someone how much boost i have what would i tell them. i only have these mods done. 8mm spark plug wires, K&N intake.

Re: s/c pulley leak

Stock GTP i would say 7-8 lbs of boost

The coupler attaches the snouts drive to the gears for the rotors in the case. On my zzp modular pulley system they give you a black push cap for the snout. Doesnt even use a screw.

GTP's def like the cold weather. My car ran 12.9's in 60deg weather in IL and 13.2's in 100+ deg weather in TX

Same mods different weather.

Re: s/c pulley leak

In New York where i live , it can go from 0 to 100 deg in 1 year....i guess the benefit of colder air is more compressed air with the S/C..approx what temp does an intercooler chill the air?...are there any benefits using it on a 10 deg day?

You need a new snout seal to take care of the leak. Snout rebuild kits are available for around $20.
