The answer is AMT/Ertl's later tooling from the late 90's. It had an exquisitely accurate body (the only complaint was a bit too much protrusion of the front bumper valance) and superb detail thanks to its separate frame, opening trunk, and platform construction interior.
Now, keep in mind, AMT also has in their catalog an older tooling of the 1957 Chevy that dates back to the early 60's. While this kit has some decent detail and great vintage hot rodding and custom options, it is nowhere near the match of the later tooling. The way to tell the two kits apart is to read to see if there are options included in the kit. The new tooling is replica stock only, whereas the old tooling has options.

What he said...
it's 1/25th scale though it comes with PE and molded rubber hoses.

Hi agree with them that the AMT 57 is the best. a close second is Revell 56 Delray, excellent kit. It was just reissued. with some really nice Pro Touring style wheels

HEy Bill that reminds me I need to build that one you gave me LOL!
The Revellogram 55 Vert is also an excellent kit, comes with a continental kit as well
