Re: cooling fans

Thats rediculus. Two used ones shouldnt cost any more than $50, and two brand new ones shouldnt cost more than $200. Look in your phone book for real shops, stay away from big chain shops like midas.

Re: cooling fans

$600 for a pair of USED cooling fans ? thats ridiculous. go find an honest place. almost all of the employees of such chains will do whatever they can to rip you off, many are paid on comission here in the UK i beleive.

if you can't find someone to get you a cheap used pair look around junkyards.

it shouldn't bee too hard to fit the fans youself either.

right....?

Re: cooling fans

I got fans from a salvage yard for $15 each and put them in myself. Shouldn't cost more than one hour labor if you have someone else do it. (depending on the complexity involved with your car)

Re: cooling fans

You didn't mention what sort of car you have?

But unless its a Lotus or a Ferrari then $600 is about 6 times more than the job should cost.

Re: cooling fans

Just one more thought,

The chances of both fans going at the same times is very slim.

I would check the fuses and basic conections first, its possible there is something loose.
If that dosnt work then take it to an Auto Sparkie.
