Stock talon AWD turbo w/boost controller faster then new Z06?
A guy I know has an early 90's talon turbo AWD.All stock.
He was telling me along with a group of people that with just a boost controller for around $180 he could beat the new 2006 corvette Z06 in a 1/4 mile race.He said that is all he needs is a boost controller to increase the boost to 28psi.Some people didn't believe with just $180 you could beat a 500+hp Z06 so he told everyone that if we know anyone that will be getting the new Z06 to let him know and he'll bet money that he could beat it. My question is..With just a $180 boost controller and only that can you make a talon that fast...fast enough to beat a new vette Z06? |

Thank you all for clearing that up.
I didn't think so either.Sort of too good to be true...or should I say too easy to be true.I figured I would check first though. I also asked him if the stock internals could handel 28psi and he said it could handel it no problem and the internals can handle enough boost for 500hp.I'm guessing that is not true either. |

That is true. But its not a good idea Long as you have the fuel to support that kind of power also

MODS , 2g pistons, cyclone intake manifold, ported 1g head, 60mm tb, greddy type s bov, apex-i n1 exhaust , ngk spark plugs, 3 angle valve job, autometer boost/vac, autometer air/fuel ,autometer oil pressure ,cross drilled rotors ,turbonetics boost controller ,air filter ,remove dump tube, 14b turbo and the ac still doesn't work and its been almost 3 years |

Just because you have 500 hp on the dyno doesn't mean you will run a good quarter mile. your powerband wouldn't be worth crap with nothing but a boost controller and 500 hp.
New Z06 is really nice BTW |
