Just curious, as avid motorheads, do any of you play automotive themed video games and if so, what do you play and why? I've always been a fan of the Gran Turismo series for the Playstation/ Playstation 2, because tweaking your car has big impact on its handling and power. I like games that make you think, not just arcade twitch reflex games with about as much realism as the WWF.

Every now and then I used to play Gran Turismo with my 2 sons on PS1/PS2 but they grew up and went off to college and the Air Force. Neat how you can mod and then see the results.

Gran Turismo was an awesome game all of them :-) I went on to play MotoCross Madness 2 for 4 years and still play it a bit now, What made it great was the ability to make tracks , literally thousands i have on disc now Lmao and the fact that racing up to 8 people at a time is great competition.
Im playing around with Flat Out for pc as of now its pretty good but nothing like mcm2 or GranTurismo. If anyone ever has a good racing game let me know I'll get it and lets have a bit of friendly competition

I was VERY disappointed that they removed the on-line play from GT-4, as I was looking forward to handing a bunch of people their asses on-line and schooling them on what driving is all about. They physics engine is spot on, all you need is someone pushing you side to side as you turn and it would be like you're really driving. The biggest problem with GT4 is the AI drivers suck, and are no cohallenge. I was looking forward to some human competition.

I always prefer human comp to AI anyday of the week You can get a demo of Flat Out online I recomend you have dsl or other high speed connection cuz it is rather large. NFS 2 is a good 1 too I forgot about that 1 Doh ! and its payday :O

Is that the one where it has MX tracks like Glen Hellen.

Next to drag racing, MX racing (Vet Class) is my next favorite hobby. But I do it for real, however, the games are fun too.

Yes it is bnaylor, Glen Helen is a classic track for MCM2 most of us old timers that still run the game used to ride , still ride or wished we still rode Lol Me and my brother used to run a mx park outside of Houston Tx. 20 years ago

Cool! Nice to have a fellow rider and MX'r on the forum. It's a small world. My father was a partner at Borderland MX in El Paso back in the early 70s. I rode 100cc Expert in a Hodaka Super Rat 100 with reed valve and 32mm Amal Carb back in 1971 - 72. Nice not having to pay track fees.

You do know AF has a dirt bike forum under motorcycles?

Before I had a fight with gravity and lost (on a mountain bike) , breaking my arm and needing 9 screws and a 6" titanium plate to re-assemble it, I used to ride motocross. I had a Honda CR250, all tricked out (it was a former Jeff Stanton factory race bike) and had more ability than balls. I have since recovered pretty well from my injury but hung up my MX boots. I miss riding, as it was a lot of fun. Here in Michigan, they are making it harder and harder to find places to ride, as trails and ORV parks are closing everywhere. My other MX claim to fame is I am the first person to break the unbreakable front fender they developed for the Honda 50 back in the 70's. Guy at the parts counter said that they ran them over with semi's after freezing them and all kinds of crazy tests during development and they wouldn't crack. They obviously didn't try popping the clutch, wheelying for about 30 ft and t-boning a 1973 Yamaha dt125 enduro, because that did it. (I was about 7 or 8yrs old)

Hey Rich, you should have mentioned that earlier. As a former rider you are still one of us good ole boys. Yeah, I heard the Northern states are heavy into green laws. Been to the hospital more than once myself racing MX bikes but I overcame the fear. But being an old man (lol) now I have to be very careful but it helps the old heart, etc. Underneath my Thor gear I have a chest protector and kidney belt. Can't beat that adrenaline rush you get when the power band kicks in, doing a 50 ft jump or a wheelie out of a berm.

My current ride is a 03 Honda CR250R. Pro Circuit Platinum pipe, V Force 3 reeds, Wiseco Pro-Lite piston, DID ERT Gold chain, Acerbis Plastic, Renthal Bars, N-Style Gripper Seat, Barnet clutch, Boyesen exhaust flange, Dunlop D756 tires, SunStar sprockets, and I had the engine re-done by Pro Circuit last year.

It's never too late to get back on one.

You have quite the toy collection Bnaylor. I had to sell some of mine during my divorce, but I'm getting some back, I may even buy another dirt bike. Always been a Honda guy, so if I do, it'll be a CR or maybe an XR (I'm gettin old). Beautiful bike by the way.
