Re: 1995 dodge neon

This would be a good time for some DSM guys to step in. I'm pretty sure your 2 liter engine in the neon is the same engine that's in the N/A 2nd gen. DSM's, and I know they make turbos for those cars, so I would think it would work for your car as well...isn't that motor called the 420 d or something?

Re: 1995 dodge neon

I've seen it done before, the srt-4 swap that is. There's a car on ebay, I'll try and find it.

edit: Here's the link.

Re: 1995 dodge neon

Yeah I agree, the looks of the one on Ebay aren't to great, but hey, that makes for one hell of a sleeper. Aren't those Neons lighter than the current ones as well?

Re: 1995 dodge neon

I agree it would make a good sleeper, but you can do that without making it induce a gag reflex.

a 95 neon coupe weighs 2385 lbs
2004 sxt weighs 2626 lbs
srt-4 weighs 2900lbs

Re: 1995 dodge neon

Hmm..i always thought the Neon engine was a 2.4 litre...either way, do whatever it takes to make it fast and not ugly at the same time.

Re: 1995 dodge neon

Ive heard from a few people that the 1st gen (im not sure if a 95 is a first gen) neons take extriemly well to turbos, and if it is the same motor as the one in the 2g turbo eclipse, then your right it would be the 420a i believe.
