Pogue carburetor / 200mpg

Sorry to post a new thread on this, but the old one was locked. Not sure why? If I am breaking a rule, I appologize....

But... The Pogue Carb is a joke. Known about for years. Poque would never let anyone test his carb. He set up all the tests that were done and only his claims are available. Seems no one else has ever been able to duplicate his claims. Re: Patents.. A real shame but, you can patent about anything. In the beginning the PO could request a working model of the artwork. But the workload became impossible to handle so now, they only request models of things that claim "perpetual motion" or "free energy", "gain over unity etc. And even a few of those have snuck by.
I worked in an area of patent law for IBM for awhile, and currently work in the performance automotive industry. The patent office is full of inventions that don't work. (platinum induction, cow magnets, etc) BTW, I don't think Poque ever sold any rights to his patent. So I guess no one else got it to work either.

However, the original poster here should feel free to experiment with the device. It will at worst be a learning experience.

Actually the claim (200mpg) is a bit of a sham anyway, since I don't know what that means. (A flying mile at 60mph, on hard tires in a 2000lb streamlined car isn't out of reach. But, the same thing in normal street driving with a couple normal stops and accelerations per mile probably bring it pretty close to breaking the laws of Thermodynamics and they are tougher than Patent Law to break.

Even Snopes knows about Pogue:

I closed the old thread because it was attracting some odd comments from people who weren't reading the actual thread. Its fine to open a new one.

It's still funny that some people are gullible enough to think that just installing a special carburator on their 350 Chevy will net them 200 MPG. Put a smile on my face.

Re: Pogue carburetor / 200mpg

yeah theres some scam artist selling huge spoilers that make your car look like that star trek ship. the website claims it got 800 miles per gallon in some big old ford conversion van with no mods other than the wing thingy. They actually have a kit for sale for a few grand to make your own wing thingy. i fell out of my seat when i saw that because i was laughing so hard
