Making car loud as possible...
Hey all
I just added Dynomax Superturbos to my 2000 GP GT, and the sound is low, and nice, BUT, it's not loud...as I would like. After hearing GTPDad talking about how he might replace his resonator with a glasspack, that made me wonder, what can I do to make a stock GP GT sound loud, but not like a POS riceburner... Cause I hear these guys with Mustangs running around, really loud...and well, I just can't have that hehe Thanks in advance

well itll be hard if possible at all to make ur car as loud as a mustang. for a few reasons. 1 is that they have a V8. its a bigger engine. 2 is that they have dual exhaust right off the engine. header back dual. unfortunately the grand prix has one pipe that splits into 2 making it have dual tips. i dont know if there is an exhaust system out there that you can make it as loud as a mustang but in my opinion it will definetly be hard to do. hope i helped.

Re: Making car loud as possible...
Here's a link to GPs with various exhausts. Sound clips are there too.
http://www.rmcgp.com/exhaust/ IMO it will be hard to mimic the sound of a V8 exhaust, not just the Mustang's, with any Grand Prix short of the new GXP or GTO. ![]() Thrasher CAI, DHP v1.0 PCM, SLP Headers, 3.25 SC pulley, CAIT GMAF, 2.5 DP/Hi-Flow CAT, u-bend delete, 160 TS, ZZP Stage 1 72mm TB, TB spacer, MSD 8.5mm wires, Autolite 103, Goodyear Gatorback Serp. & SC Belt, Nitto NT555R Drag Radials 1/4 ET: 13.210 sec. @ 104.490 mph 0 - 60 ft: 1.945 sec.

To be honest with you my car sounds exactly like a V8. It has an awesome rumble to it in park. Then when you give it gas peoples mouths just drop, but at 2000 rpms it can get a little raspy. The drone is nuts as well. I have a custom mandrell bent Y-pipe for my catback. I used flowmaster 40 series removed my cat / resonator and have 2.5 inch catback with a 3inch down Pipe. I promise you it sounds like a V8. I get compliments all the time @ gas stations
