Hello fellow fire owners
![]() My boyfriend has a 2000 sunfire. He'd like to replace the stock am/fm tape stereo with a stock (from a wreckers) stereo. I've heard that GM has wired a lot of non-stereo components through the stereo system that may be affected by the replacement. Is this true, anything we should be cautious of when doing the switch? Thanks for your help!! p.s > I'm a new fire owner - a month ago I bought myself a sweet yellow 2003 Sunfire GT and I LOVE IT!!!! |

Re: Stock AM/FM Stereo to Stock CD Stereo
Welcome to the forum..
First I would say that as long as he replaces it with a factory stereo from 2000 to 2005 there should be no problems, not that there will be by replacing it with something else (aftermarket). Check out this thread - http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=448798 hopefully it answers some of your questions. Cheers |

^^^^ Agree. I beleive 2000 was the start date of the newer models so 2k and up CD players should fit in with little to no mod necessary
