Not very. My record time, for the passenger side axle on a crx, was 13 minutes and 40 seconds from start to finish (including taking the tire off and putting it back on, etc.)

A more typical time is about 1.5 hours per side, up to 3 hours if you encounter very sticky bolts or break a tool.

you could have the driveshaft falling out, check the bolts and stuff underneath on the A-arms, and the tie rods.

Let's not bring it to conclusion on the drive shaft right away. It could be something simple before you spend a large amount of money.

threethirteen--Did you change anything on your wheels recently? Break pads? Rims? perhaps worn wheel bearing?

It could just be a simple bump or dent on the back of the rim that does not clear the clearance on your suspension.

Put the car on the lift and turn the wheel that is making the clicking noise to see where is the noise coming from, that should solve a lot of mystery.

just encountered same problems last week

i work at mechanic shop, i looked at this ladys car for 20 minutes couldn't find anyhitng i could get it to make the click every time, finally i broke down and tore the brakes apart and found the inside pad was worn real uneven and the squeeler was barely touching, every once in a while, so check your breaks real good !!!

cv joints, this happened on my friends integra. whenever he was driving it would make this clicking noise, the faster you go the faster the noise. then we took it in to our auto shop and checked it out and found that it was the cv joint. this is not the only thing that makes the noise but hope that helps.
