One of the first mods I did to my bike was to install frame sliders. They are pieces of plastic that bolt to the frame. They help to prevent damage when the bike goes down. I'm not too sure how they would mount on a Honda. On GSXRs all you have to do is remove the engine mount and install a longer bolt with the slider. On the newer GSXRs, you have to cut the plastic a little to get them on proplerly.

The next thing I would do is install a new exhaust can. I find that my speed increases if I can't hear the exhaust.

The next mod would be to chop the big 'ol mud flap hanging off the back.

frame sliders on a honda

not sure if they changed the plastic enough for frame sliders... there is a screwhole in the frame for them but on the older models (f4 and down) the plastic covered the frame slider screw and you had to cut the plastic if you wanted frame sliders...

Hey thank's for replying guy's, still riding & enjoying it very much!

I came to a halt this year do to My rates when up & I refused to pay them a new down payment.
I have no accidents no tickets & they want about $122 a month, hmm I'm 29 years old been in the satle for 2 years.
Correct me if I am wrong but aren't my rates suppose to go down once I am above 25yrs old & been in the satle more than 1-2yrs.

I was paying $35. with Allstate but they know don't cary policies for motorcycles (BUMMER).

Any help with the insurance need's would be very appreciated.

I only ride in my private neighborhood know, since I have no insurance, the rest of the time my F4i sits in the garage covered!

Thanks all!

If I were to do my mods again I would do them in this order:
frame sliders
yellow headlights
steering damper
cut off the mudflap
yosh rs3 ti exhaust
flushmount blinkers
LED tail-light kit
custom paintjob
(if you have a carb get a factory rejet kit more hp)

Ohlins inverted front shock
singled sided rear swingarm
custom wheels
polished or powdercoated frame/wheels <--depends on your taste
etc.

friend of mine at work got a CBR 600 F4i and that got me interested in motorcycles (yesterday lol).

i was just wondering how many miles could be expected out of a motorcycle?

i have an integra with 201k and its still running quite nice.

Bikes typically don't get the miles that cars do. They usually get stored for one or more of the 4 seasons, and that isn't exactly the greatest thing. Also, they are so simple so people tend not to do maintenance on them as regularly as they should. It's just that they forget b/c bikes don't have a spot on the windshield to change oil or do whatever.

Granted, there are exceptions to every rule. Right now a friend of mine has a 1990 Honda CBR 1000F that he bought with 900 miles on it quite a few years ago. He now has over 83,000 miles on it with regular maintenance and a few small repairs. He even does track days on the bike!!!! It's all in how it's ridden and how well it is maintained.

so if i was ot get a new bike with 0 miles on it, break it in exactly like kawasaki says, and do regular maintanence, it should last 75k + easy.

also with the ZX6RR, 13:1 cr. is 91 octane enough to prevent problems in this bike? thats supreme around here, ive sen 92 a couple times, but damn that cr seems high, i read the other .6's and saw like 12:1, 12.4:1 and already thought that was crazy compression, but then read that

Um, the Interceptor may be the "gentleman's sport tourer" but it's still only 200ccs short of a full liter of displacement. START SMALL. I can't say it enough b/c people just don't listen to it no matter how many times it's said. IMO, the ABSOLUTE max size for a starter sport bike is 500, but since 500s are hard to find, then SOME people can handle the power of a 600.
