Wrecked my car......

Well On a drizzily and damp Saturday night... I was driving in a tunnel and then once I cam out of the tunnel theere was a sharp right turn and hte light was greeen and I decide to keep my speed... I didnt realize that the roads were slippery and I slammed my brakes on the turn(bad idea) and the ABS locked up the brakes and my car skidded into a sidewalk and hte right side of my car has been pretty musch desimated.. The rims and tires were destroyed along with the suspension and the side skirts and right side of hte fron bumper... The right side airbag deployed too.. Its going to cost 8 grand to fix my car and my father has been yeling at me for the past three and grounded me for the rest of the year and my dad has been calling me "his slave" now since hes making me do aall the hosue work and doinf everything for him. Life sucks...

The insurance will cover it completly abut it will go up big time. I understand what happend to me is going to cahnge my life and now I think I am going to drive alot more careful now.. the good news is that my dad will let me drive his car to school but it will take a month to fix the car since the body shop its in has other cars to fix and they have to order new rims, tires, and suspenions for hte ride side aand respray the side skirt and front bumper and aa new panel for the rigth side where the airbag is... but I'm starting to learn a few things in life.. forgive me... I know it will take a while but I'll learn... I know I shouldnt be driving a nice car like what I have...

tosk is quite correct, ABS is supposed to to the exact oposite and prevent you from locking the wheels.

jcz1987...sorry to hear about this, and don't kill yourself over it thinking "i shoulda done this..done that" etc...

F*CK everyone saying it's cause your young and inexperianced.. WE ALL do things from time to time that can, and sometimes DO get us in trouble.. Once you get your car back, cherish it..that is a nice ride man, and the body shop will do a great job.

Remember this, a friend i used to have (worked at a body shop) said if the car is in nice condition, we put THAT much more work into it..to make it look great...whereas if they get some econobox, they just slap the sh*t on..

One pointer i can give you, ABS is VERY unpredictable...so ALWAYS assume your brakes can lock up...

Well I understand that everyone thinks Im a dumbass for ruining my car but yes I am still young but experienced with accidents before.. First of all I was not drifting or playing with the E-brake at all. It was jsut coming out of a right turn a little fast I should say and ABS light went on but the car kept skiddimg so I tried my best to keep the car in control thats all... sheesh stop being all hard on me. Thanks solaris=amazing for standing up for me.
