Re: 92 camry
You better get that information from a Toyota dealer (ask again or ask another dealer) with your VIN or have a mechanic look at it in person. At some time in the '92 model year, they changed the front suspension and have at least two different suspensions. One type is much more common than the other, and I have no idea if this difference affects the struts in the way you're talking about or not.
Unless you can buy one or the other and return them if it is incorrect, get the right one in the first place. Unless she's getting rid of the car in the next few years, I recommend getting Toyota parts.

'92 is serviceable, BUT it really depends on what the plant put in your car. Even tho the entire Camry platform should have been serviceable, a lot of 92-94 Camrys have sealed struts when they shouldn't.
The cost is the exact same & there is no mounting difference. (The lower mount on the factory sealed have a bushing, but it doesn't affect the strut, or the strut mount. They interchange) My advice: Go somewhere else, as any Toyota inclined shop is going to know to put in new sealed struts regardless of what you actually have. For future reference: http://toyota.mnc.ru/framno/longindex.html Put your frame into the index. If it is Post October 1994 it is 100% going to be sealed struts. If it's Pre, then it *should* have serviceable struts. The only thing that 100% will have serviceable struts pre oct '94 are the ES / Windom's, along with Camrys that come from the JDM plant. Everything else is up in the air. (My guess is whatever the specific factory had a supply of)
