4th gen console--3rd gen car??

i guess i am using the wrong center console. i aquired a 95 camaro center console, along with came the part that holds cd's and stuff. thing thing is were am i gonna mount my radio, heater-a/c controls? has anyone in here ever done this before? i read somewhere else that you should use the firebird center console is this true?? by the way i'm attempting to put this in a 91 camaro. the new console is for a manual transmission. mine is a automatic.

Yeah, you should have gone with the Firebird center console. It doesn't have the large front end and fits like a dime in the 3rd gens. Here's a link to another forum where these guys have posted dozens of pics of 3rd gens with the 4th gen consoles. Maybe it'll give you some ideas.

I've got my old center console that I've been needing to get rid of if your interested. It's the older style that only has the one cup holder in the center. It's in good shape, I just have yet to find a box that it will fit in.

i think you just have to loosen the bolts that hold down the automatic shifter and slide it over. not sure on this just got started in this type of modification. someone else may be able to tell you more.

Yeah, I upgraded mine to the 98-02 style a while back when I first got my car. Couldn't stand not having any decent cupholders. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/696690/2
