Los Angeles coast drive...

I was sitting at home today all bored so I figured I'd pick up my camera and go driving around LA's little penisula. I pretty much just hopped on Palos Verde Dr. and took it all the way around and ended up around Long Beach Harbor. So enjoy a part of LA you don't usually get to see!!

Just a little map to get you situated:

Red star is where I started, where my home is. REDONDO BABY!!!:

Closer up you can see Palos Verde Dr. Mostly highlighted in yellow on the coast:

Anytime you go on a coastal drive you need good music to go along with it. Can't think of a new album that could be better than Taproot's new album, Blue-Sky Research.

Without further ado:

That mountain in the backround is Saddleback Mountain in Orange County. I grew up right near the base of it:

Sun setting:

This is actually Redondo Beach and not on the penisula:

Yep, need a tri-pod so I don't have to search for random thing to set my camera on.

Thanks for viewing.

Really cool. I knew Cali had smog, but I didn't realize it was that bad, or maybe the mountain is further away than I think it is.

Haha, I know the feeling! You tend to get fairly creative though with ways of proping the camera the way you want

Still, a having a tripod is better

Great photos - I especially love the second photo (looking down at the waves crashing), and the first picture of the golf course

That's a great drive, I wander through there every once in a while. The golf course is Ocean Trails, owned by Donald Trump. The land in that area is very unstable, and they lost the entire 18th green and part of a fairway into the ocean a while back.

I work at the place with the big cranes in the middle of the last shot.

Nice pics.

Yeah. I'm thinking I should do this again in the winter after it rains and washes everything clean. Plus some clouds in the sky would add some character.

I really wanted to get out and take some shots of the ships and cranes but was too tired and couldn't find a parking spot close enough. Now I'm wishing I had.
