Calling all Speed Density Experts....

Fellas,

I've installed a set of 24lb injectors (from my wrecked '94 Z28 with a 5.7 LT1 engine) in my 1988 Mustang GT (speed density)... Seems to run and idle fine, oher than surging a bit... sounds like the computer is hunting for the right air/fuel mixture. Has anyone done this? And how did things work out for you? Also I have on my application:

Ported Cobra upper and lower intake
Cold air kit
Underdrive pulleys
MSD blaster Coil
and fresh 24# Rochester injectors...

Where can I get a custom chip burn?

Your running rich and the surge is probably some flooding. Your SD computer's fuel maps are based on #19 injector flow ratings. It's calculating x amount of time open to deliver y amount of fuel based on #19 injector flow numbers. Your now keeping the same X(time open) but the Y(fuel amount) is more cause your injectors flow more in the same period of time.

Make your life easy and just take the #24's out, your mods aren't even close to needing them. and if you do need a lil more fuel, cheat and just use a AFPR to flow a lil more.

Re: Calling all Speed Density Experts....

Actually I am getting ready to install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 190 pump, along with 3.90 gears and a ZEX kit with 100 shot... I really would like to keep the injectors in and get a custom chip... appreciate the opinion and thought GTStang.

#24's still aren't needed with those mods but Superchips or some of the older chip burners will be able to do it your probably gonna have to give them a call.

If they won't you can buy a Crane Interceptor which would be a better choice cause they'll used and you'll get it cheaper than a chip and it's much more powerful.
