Getting fed up..... Thinking about selling my car.

Well as I said in my last post, I'm seriously thinking about selling my DSMGSX. But somewhere deep down in my soul, I dont want too. But if I did, how much do you guys think I could get for it. Of couse this would be after I got whatever it is fixed that just broke.

If you didn't see the last post about how my car broke again, here it is.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=450125

Anyways, here are the specs on my DSM.

1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

Re: Getting fed up..... Thinking about selling my car.

Wow you must be insane. People go nuts trying to find a Mitsubishi GSX and with that much mods, wow. I will trade you for my parents cars . They are both 2005, just gimme that GSX.
I would advise you not to sell it, since most of the time people always lose more money than they put in the car for mods and ect. Its one of the cleanest cars I have seen and it can be modded and made fast (not that its not fast alredy) . It broke, big deal cars always break. If you decide to sell it though, what price do you think you might want for it. I have a feeling that if you sell it you will regret it. Whatever you choose, good luck.

Re: Getting fed up..... Thinking about selling my car.

Sell some of those stuff on your mod list and buy a tranny/clutch/flywheel combo... then slowly sell the rest of your mods and turn your car back to stock because like your said "I didn't know how expensive the matinence was going to be on daily driving a highly modified car" well a stock eclipse is fast enough since you said u barley race anymore. Keep the car and sell all/some of those mods. Good luck, i know i miss my dsm..

Don't sell it dude. You have such a nice, clean, and fast car to just dump. Like viet said, you could sell some of the things to help pay for the tranny, and after that, just keep selling off the parts by themselves so you get more of your money back. Good luck bro.

Re: Getting fed up..... Thinking about selling my car.

Damn. Another one bites the dust? I hope not.

I know how expensive it is to run these things. I just got bitten with crankwalk, and the upgraded engine with 6-bolt swap kit is costing me way more than the car is worth currently. Some people would call me insane. Others would call me a DSMer. Some would say there isn't a difference between the two, lol. I plan on keeping the car forever though. I've been driving my brother's 97 Civic auto and my mom's minivan for one month now, since my ride's been in the shop. I can't describe how much I crave to drive my car again.

If there's no holding you back and your moving on to other things, then make sure you turn your car back to stock as much as you can feasibly can. While individual aftermarket parts retain a considerable amount of their retail value for years after use, a car with them installed rarely sees anything above bluebook value to justify the upgrades.

fix it, it should be easy

It's probably just the metal rod that may have fallen. the manual transmissions have metal rods that work 2 gears each. you might have broken or bent this rod or it may just have moved out of place, you should have it checked, but don't sell the car.
