I am on a SAE mini-baha team meaning that I work on a mini offroad car and I was asked for ideas for a rear suspension setup. The idea that I am working with is a unequal length double A-Arm setup. The overall width can be no wider than 60 inches. The tires are about 7 inches wide with only a small offset. The tires are about 7 inches wide each, so I'd say about 7 inches wide total and the lower part of the chasis around 20 inches wide (there is no definte awnser for that yet). That leaves 16.5 inches for the lower A-arms and I have the chasis at 30 inches so the A-arms are 11.5 inches long. Can you offer me any other options or ideas or improvements for this and ideas on what the suspension should be made of? Any thoughts woul dbe appreiciated along with ideas for how the A-arms should look.

you know, a good place to re-post this question would be on http://www.eng-tips.com
There are a few very experienced suspension design guys in there, who seem to like to give free advice online.
