drifting is the new thing

one of the coolest things you can do in a car is drift. dont get me wong, drag racing is tite but all you have to do is shift well and have a good launch. Those things are still pretty hard but compared to drifting, its nothing. It takes alot of skill to be able to slide a car sideways and controll it. and it also takes alota balls to drive straight at a wall and throw the rear end of your car at the last second. I think drifting would get big if there was actually a place you can do it. drag racing is so popular since all you need a straight road but to drift, you need a street with alota turns and isnt that dangerous. but since theres no tire walls on freeways i guess drifting will only b big in japan.

i second that motion...in scotland, me and my brother rented a STI from a quality rental car company.....kinda strange they rented STI's.....but anyway we were rallying on some gravel, my bro jammed that thing sideways gave alittle spin caught some traction and pulled away.....I swear it was the single greatest feeling besides going full speed in reverse and throwing it into a 180 while pulling away at 30.....also with rental cars which are a good way to practice dangerous driving.

yea drifting is great, but why are you posting it on an awd type car forum. You gotta know how to drift with a good rear wheel drive car (FR, MR) then you work on something hard as something like an evo.

drifting is something you can do in parking lots if you step the cones and just practice, dun get caught ;p

another thing you been watching too much initial d

there is only so much money you have to pay a rental car company if you crash it, they tell you at the check in...ours happened to be pretty good, not sure what it was thou, i think like 2K pounds.

by the way, drifting a FWD car can be drifted nicely but RWD is very difficult and is also very very risky due to the chance you will spin out easier with more power.

If drifting's your thing, you may want to take a peek into AF's Initial D forum. :coolguy:
