Re: What are the best drift friendly NEW cars?

S2000 and maybe WRX/Evos?

mazda miata (and mazdaspeed especially).

Do the cars have to be japanese? Youre really limiting your options in that way.

Let's not open up the FF drifting conundrum and stick to RWD cars for the sake of saving civility.

As far as current or recent production cars are concerned (that are affordable, trying to keep it under 50K) here's what you should keep an eye out for. Some are better than others, but this is the basics.

Chevrolet Camaro Z28/Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Pontiac GTO
Ford Mustang GT
Mazda Miata
Honda S2000
Chrysler 300C
Nissan 350Z/Infiniti G35
BMW 330ci
Mazda RX8
Chevrolet Corvette

and if you're really bold

Infiniti M45
Mercury Marauder
Cadillac CTS
Chrysler 300C Hemi

So, there you have it. I may have missed some, but that's the basics of what you could walk into a showroom, buy, and then drift with some measure of competency.

Re: What are the best drift friendly NEW cars?

i just watched my friend's copy of the 2002 gumball rally, and for the driftin section there was a last-gen 300zx doin sick 5-second drifts. idk how they are outside that video, but it was unbelieveable stuff. the FF probly makes it weird, but maybe the qeight offsets that? idk.

Otherwise yeah the is300 is pretty cool for that.
