Question Greddy Turbo Kit For 99 Si???????

I am going to get a turbo for my 99 SI B16A2. I want to go with Greddy because I like the quality of their work and the fact that they have it CARB legal helps also. I want anyones opinion as far a swhat they thought about the Greddy turbo. Likes, dislikes, how was it to install, do you have to maintain it a lot, how many miles have you had t on your car and has it worn the engine at all? Has anyone increased the boost on it or can you increase the boost on it. Thanks for the help.

P.S. Has anyone used Nitrous and turbo on their engine at the same time? If so how did it work and what do you have as far as internals?

Lets see...I've had the kit on since Dec. 01. I like it a lot...turbo spools up quick and the power is there. I'm still at the stock boost level which is 5psi. People will mention that the downside of the kit is the blue box, which is the FCU that comes with the kit. It's preset to run rich so you won't blow your motor, but there is power to be had if you got rid of that. There's isn't much I do to maintain it. I check the oil level every week or so to see if I have enough oil. I check the plugs from time to time just incase of detonation. To increase the boost, you would need a boost controller...some people would turn the acuator rod, but I don't think that is a good idea. If you got any more questions...feel free to ask.

Who did you have install the kit for you? Did you do it or did you pay someone to do it? How much did you pay them and how long did it take? With the blow-off valve you have can you hear the "shift farts" or is it not that loud? Thanx

"Shift farts" LOL..that's a first I've heard of that. Anyways, you can hear the bov...you can definately tell the car is turbo'd even at 5psi. I installed the kit with the help of my brother. It took about 20hrs to install it since this was our first time. Visit www.turbocivicsi.com if you are interested in installing it yourself. It has a walk through on how to install the kit with pictures. It's not as hard as it may seem, just time consuming. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.
