That's it! Getting turbo!

That's right! I am tired of these 3-5 horsepower bolt ons and have decided to go F.I. My car is fast, faster than most of the D-series motors I've seen or raced but enough playing around. I already hooked up my oil feed lines today and am in the process of finding all the parts. If any of you actually care I'll keep you updated, especially once I start getting some #'s. by the time everything is done I should be hitting 12's. The best part is almost all the cars in out club will be going turbo so we are going to split the cost of some kind of ECU management system, prolly HONDATA (anyone need their ECU reprogrammed-real cheap! ) Anyway, thanks for reading and keep on speeding.

dont get turbo bro. all you're doing is wasting over 2G's powering a car that will die from denotation within 6 months, even if you maintain your car in good condition. Honda = "NON" turbo

i ran an ls/vtec with 9psi for a year. took it out when i got a b16a. it still runs prefect after ~30,000 miles. now i run a b16a w/ 7psi. its only been about 5 weeks..but it is still so clean..doesnt knock. runs perfect.

ran 20psi with no problem. can hold up to about 35psi without breaking.

i didnt say i was going to run 35psi..but i could...for a little while.

Hahaha, yeah if you retard the timing so far back and use like 110+ race fuel... you could strap a cruiseship turbo to the motor if you wanted and run 40+ psi if you could get it to spin... but for how long till you melted everything on the inside, well - have fun

hahaha, dude you're funny, I = no idea, tell me one person who turbo a honda engine without having problem with it, and don't give me no bull about someone having one that last 3 years or something. like i said before, honda weren't meant for turbo, it's a dam econonmy car. here's a little fact i'll tell you, a fully mod turbocharge B18c civic can "NOT" beat a mod MR2 or mod 240sx.

if u take the right precuations when installing a turbo and don't run insame boost levels, a turbo honda can be just as reliable as any other.

you were kidding about that MR2 thing right? that car is a piece of crap. a stock b18c1 could take it let alone the b18c5...hell the b16b could blow it a new asshole. if you were speaking of the old late 80's model...i think a D16A could do a number on it. and as for thos new ones...the spyder. that things a joke! my friends father manages tarbox toyota around here and he drove one home a couple times...nice looking car...but piece of shit.

and the late 90's model (the one you probably saw in gran turismo). i believe in the game it ran about 276hp or so...when in real life..in this counrty anyways. it came with two engines..a 2.2l 135hp (HAHA) and a 2.0l 200hp turbo, a little nicer. the only really great thing was the torque...and its all turbo lag anyways, that matched with 6000rpm redlines, and a governor that kicks in at 125mph.. it isnt really that much of a match for a b18c5. if they are both modded, and the c5 is reinforced, you can feed it like 25psi (and it wont detonate..) it will be a pretty damn cloe race. i wouldnt bet on it.

and a civic doesnt even run a b18c...

oh yeah...i forgot about the 240sx. another pos. yeah, drove one..hated it! heres the deal with that car (for those who dont know):

KA24DE: naturally aspirated 2.4l engine. 155hp 160lbs torque.
heh...kinda pussy..2.4l and all they can get out of it is 155hp? honda got 195 out of a 1.8...hmm...sounds like nissans got a little competition. this 240sx that you speak of is a pretty good match for maybe an integra rs..or maybe a civic si.

dude...do a little investigating before you come slam us.

you can turbocharge anything. i read this article once about a bar stool w/ a turbo lawnmower engine...hondas are strong engines. they can handle a lot more than you would imagine. and yeah, i'll tell you stories all day about honda engines running turbo for 3 years...very smoothly might i add. engines that are stock forced induction arent any stronger than n/a engines...stock turbo doesnt come higher than 7-9psi..supra TT came stock with 6psi. i believe the gt r33 did as well... just because an engine is small, and doesnt come with turbo, doesnt mean it wasnt made to take it. hondas are bulletproof!
