Arrow Mail-in rebate (MY A**!!)

I bought a computer 6 months ago, and I'm supppose to have $300 in rebates........SO far I only have $50 for my printer. So the apperent question would be WHERE IS MY $250!!

I can't believe companies get away with this type of advertising when they damn well know the consumer will not get their money for the rebates.

Oh but they have a number to call you might say.... A lot of frickin' good that does when all you can do is leave a message. Yeah I'm sure they'll get my rebate to me if I can't directly threaten them.

I'm sure all of you have dealt with this or still dealing with it from a transaction 3 years ago. What do you guys do?

Do I threaten them with complaint from the BBB? You should be able to take them to court which I'm sure you can, but that would be a waste for a $50 or $100 rebate. How do yuo get your damn money? It should be illegal to use such a marketing scheme.

Any thoughts?

We deal with that where I work at RadioShack. The thing we always suggest is to make copies of your rebate information and if they don't give it to you in a decent time frame, call them and bitch at them and send the shit in again. It's YOUR money so there's no reason why you shouldn't be persistant in it being sent to you.

Re: Mail-in rebate (MY A**!!)

You can't take them to court over it. They write in the fine print that they're not responsible for lost submissions, and that's what they'll say happened. They lost it. It sucks, but there's nothing you can do.

It should be mandatory for them to inform you that they have lost your submission BUT THEY DONT SAY SHIT!!!!!!

I think all the rebate UPC's go onto a conveyor (sp?) belt right into an incinerator once they get to the companies. They might as well atleast.

What if I copied my stuff though couldn't I prove that I never got my rebat, but in fact sent the damn thing?

send it 300 times, on all different days from different locations, then by law of averages they will have received it at least once.

this is why you scan in the receipt and EMAIL it to their customer support or use rebate center.com or whatever, or most companies have a rebates page right on it....

tigerdirect.com and .ca is awful for rebates, everything is promos and rebates...fuck that....

anyways....i called in like every week cuz i know that the mail only takes like 3-4 days, so i give it a week and a half then i call every day lol until they ship me my shit

We pick up rebate items all the time (Rite Aid, Walgreens, Dell ....) My wife scans in copies of the forms before mailing them out and has a folder to track all the activity. After a few months she'll start calling the places that haven't sent the rebate check. In over five years, she has not failed in getting a single rebate back. She's organized and follows the directions - so we don't get screwed over.
