Knocking noise, spark plug well oil puddle.

Very recently, my car has been making a rattling and ticking noise thats coming from the engine, for sure. Its exactly the sound you hear when a cylinder isnt firing. It appears during light acceleration at 10%-20% throttle, low RPMs. It actually sounds like a glorified lifter tick. I checked all my wires to make sure there was spark and found a puddle of oil in the well. Plus I'm pretty sure I've got nutty boost leak.

I'm going to get this stuff checked out soon, but some opinions/comments would be appreciated.

Valve cover gasket is probably leaking, and that puddle of oil could be fouling out the spark plug i suppose. Interesting problem....

You know my car kinda makes a ticking sound when I start it up in the morning but after running for a couple minutes It stops, I wonder if it could be similar?

I've heard of oil in the spark plug well causing a misfire. Try and listen to where in the engine the noise is coming from. If it's from the bottom end it could be trouble. If it's really loud it could be serious. Also check the oil for metal shavings.

Yours sounds more like an oil pump that is shitting out.

Shpyer I don't know man. The only things that come to mind are head gasket and valve cover gasket. I'd hate to see your car out of commision, its just so fuckin sweet to look at. Hope you figure it out soon.

Re: Knocking noise, spark plug well oil puddle.

The car was losing power and boost in all gears and RPM ranges when I took it out today, much worse than yesterday, and the knocking/ticking noise was louder and more pronounced. I am just so fucked. lol. We'll know tomorrow, but thanks for all the input guys!

Not if I can help it, haha. Maybe I should set up a support group. Call 1-800-SHPYDER for further information on how to donate and help. lmao!

Well, the car went to the mechanics today. They are going to do an engine oil flush a few times. It could be loose valves, or just the lifters going bad...which I don't understand, since I had a valve job done only 10xxx miles ago! Hopefully the flush should cure the problem (strange though, since I religiously check my oil every day and top up whenever I need to), otherwise I need a new set of lifters.
