2002 Taurus code p0191
My 02 Taurus has started to stall and bogg down(intermittently). The computer has three codes. P0191, and two related to rich running. A technician says I need the fuel regulator. He says the car has way too high fuel pressure(60 psi), and it should be around 35psi. I don't want to throw parts at it.
I am wondering if this sensor could cause these symptoms or is the p0191 is simply informing me of another problem. The fuel filter has been changed. Thanks much, Ted |

Re: 2002 Taurus code p0191
The P0191 also relates to fuel pressure problems. If it is running at 60 psi, have the regulator replaced. It is the most inexpensive repair for your problems.

Re: 2002 Taurus code p0191
I do not think the 02 Taurus has a regulator, rather it has a fuel rail pressure sensor.

Re: 2002 Taurus code p0191
KEY OFF. For Mechanical Returnless Fuel System with fuel pressure greater than 448 kPa (65 psi). REPLACE fuel pressure regulator in fuel tank.
For Electronic Returnless Fuel Systems with fuel pressure greater than 448 kPa (65 psi). RERUN Quick Test. Other DTC's should be present if fuel pressure is out of range.
