We've got em on later model Grand Prixs too. It looks like your rear anti-sway bar and the left side mounting bracket. At the bottom of the bracket is the rubber bushing which holds the sway bar.

I wouldn't say its dangerous to drive with it broken but you never know. I worked with a guy that had a '91 - '92 Regal a few months back with a similar problem and all he complained about it was noisy. The rust out looks pretty bad and its looks like it will need welding. You must get a lot of rust up North.

I'm quite sure it can be welded but it depends on how much metal has been eaten away by the rust. I'd take it to your buddy and see what he says about it. Good luck!

Re: Urgent! Need Help. Pic Provided

yea i spoke to that welder friend of mine..hes also pretty good mechanic but I didn't know if the car was safe to drive and what not so i posted here. He said i should just buy a new "Rear Stabilzer Bar Bracket"...welding would work for a while but wont last long due to the amount of rust on the part. So I think im going to go down to UAP/NAPA and order a new part. Should I be able to put this on myself?

shouldnt be too hard...that rust is pretty bad, id take a wire brush and clean what you can on the underside and then brush on some dexron3...works nice as a coating to prevent rust

The parts you'll need are:

Left Stabilizer Link GM Part # 10259660 GM List Price $13.45 U.S.

Left Link Bracket GM Part #10409334 GM List Price $29.32 U.S.

The link bracket bracket is the part that mounts to the chassis undercarriage. The stabilizer link is the part that holds the stabilizer (anti-sway) bar.

I have a Mitchell parts listing covering the Grand Prix and Regal going back to the early nineties models and up to 2003. Its the same guides that body shops use.
