Help!!! No sound from speakers
I have a pioneer HU w/ a 50watts X 4 internal amp. I was driving one day and then the speakers just cut out on me. I checked all my wiring and its all fine, but then I realized that I might have blown my output IC or internal amp. So, i ordered a new one and soldered it on. still i got no sound from the speakers. Everything other than that works fine. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

if the radio AND the CD player do not have any sound, than it won't be either of those. If you are using only the internal amp, then it isn't something like the auto turn-on wire. If the unit looks liike it's playing then it's not likely to be a fuse - although sometimes the constant 12V fuse can blow and it looks like the headunit is playing when it's really not. If none of that is problem then it must be somewhere in the internal amp section.

Re: Help!!! No sound from speakers
is there any possable way for you to hook it up to an amp using the rca's? If you have sound from rca's, and not the outputs, then its more than likely the output chip. Did you replace it with the exact same one? I believe pioneer uses mainly the PAL007A Mosfet. If you serach around you can find them pretty reasonable. Um, usually when an ouput IC chip blows, it fries something else on the cirsuit board. Look about for burning or melted capacitors. And smell, use that nose. Smell for burnt components. Like I said if you get sound from the rca's, and not outputs, then its the output IC, but if no sound from either, its something else, and probably isnt worth your trouble. Good luck.

Re: Help!!! No sound from speakers
when i installed my 6" front speakers, there was no hole for them in the door, i cut out a hole, but the metal of the door was touching both the + and - on one of the speakes, which stopped them from working..this may or my not help, but its here for the taking

Re: Help!!! No sound from speakers
have you tried swithcing out your speakers? it might possibly be them, or you shorted out the outputs cuz they were touching metal which could have completed thew connection right there
