420a swap to 4G63

Ok there have been a few of you that have asked about the swap to the mitsubishi 4G63 from the 95-99 eclipse GST, GSX, and Talon TSi. The total cost for the engine swap is about $6000 roughly at the time of the post by ashah000, What engine can I swap into my GS/RS ?

Here are the costs (from 2gnt)
1. 4G63 turbo engine (stock) $1500
2. transmission (stock GS-T FWD) $500
3. wiring harness for engine $300
4. 4G63 ECU (stock) $300
5. shift linkage $200
6. custom engine mounts $200
7. chassis cross member $100
8. complete exhaust $200
9. intercooler, turbo, related parts $500
10. boost gauge/fuel filter, etc $300
11. Installation $1500
Total - $5600
W/out Paying someone to do the work - $4100

Cost for a 420a + Turbo

First off here's the list for the turbo upgrade

Cost for the 420a turbo is about $3000.
On a good day you can find the 420A engine and tranny for about $1500.
Cost of labor about $600.
Total - $5100
W/out Labor $4500.

Difference come with what you can find the engine for. I've actually found the block and tranny for about $600 in good condition. The 4G63 can't be found that cheap. The only other thing is that the engine mounts for the 4G63 would have to be custom made and that price will vary. There is are other lists available in the mitsubishi Eclipse/Eagle/Talon forums. Search for Engine Swap and you'll find just about every thing you need to know. Please don't go to the forums and make the same mistake that I did and ask about the swap. They don't like that. id just go 420a turbo route, actually ive already done that . u can run about 10 psi on stock internals, replace the internals and much more is possible. its a pretty good combination. and if you need any help at all i can help you since ive done it already.
