Re: wip~simple civic
i think your problem may be that you haven't mixed the paint well enough. i had the same problem with my silver. a few options here:
1. shake it for a longer time to make sure the flakes mix in. 2. put it in water that is hot, but make sure it is NOT hot enough to burn your hand when you put your hand in. 3. put it in the sun for 5 minutes. not too long or it might explode. then when you think it has mixed well enough put another wet coat on it.

Re: wip~simple civic
what i do is..put the can in warm water..lol..
ill take better lighting condition pics...the flakes show up..its not that glossy though...ill test it 1st on a styrene sheet ok... updates: i shaked it for 15 mins..then i dipped the can in hot but not boiling water... blasted the hood again with another coat... ![]() still looks flat?maybe clear coat will do..or some scratch x... here are more upclose detailed paint pics... ![]() ![]() ![]() :?:

Re: wip~simple civic
clear it because its a metallic paint, polish it after clear coat. It will look like a flat type of paint if you don't clear it. Don't use scratch x before clear!!!!

Re: wip~simple civic
Nice! Clear coat should clear up that dullness. Probally happened because it was humid outside and you can was a little bit too cold/warm.

Re: wip~simple civic
Metallic colors shouldn't be shaked, they need to be stirred in a circular motion. Hold the can by the top and move your hand so the bottom of the can is rotating, but the top is not moving much. This will stir up the paint better than if you shake it. It works with non-metallics also.
