91 Corolla trouble

I need some advice please.
I have a 91 Corolla with the 4AFE, it now has 320,000 miles without any major problems. But now when you are going down the road when you first start it up it cuts out and acts like it won’t take the gas when you accelerate. After 5 min or so it’s good to go for the rest of the day. The check engine/service engine soon light has not been on, but I did check the codes and it showed a 24. Anyone had this problem? Or have any suggestions?
Thanks, Chris

Re: 91 Corolla trouble

On my 91 Corolla, my problem (my check engine light was on showing Code 22) was my coolant temperature sensor. My car would die a few times right after starting it the first time of the day, and for the first few minutes, would try to die if I pressed on the gas. I checked (fixed) the touching wires for the plug, and replaced the Coolant Temperature Sensor ($25 at Auto Zone) and it runs like a dream now. The wires to that plug were exposed right at the plug and touching, so I seperated them gently with a small flat head screw driver, and coated them with Liquid Electrical tape (found at home depot) Make sure to unplug the battery first, as even though there's not much going through those two wires, they will bite ya.
