Rear Axle Leaking!
Guess I'll have to make a trip to the dealer. I kept noticing a small spot on the garage floor next to the rear tire. Finally found the leak. It's leaking from where the axle bolts to the break housing in the driver's side rear. Really sucks, I've only got 3200 miles!

rear axle seal
Damn, sorry to hear that man. 23k and some change no leaks on a 2000. I've had a few buddies with leaks on full size chevys and gmcs. both had troubling times with local dealers but pushed the issue very hard and eventually after failed repairs had a complete new rear end installed. For what its worth!

Fortunately it is not a Chevrolet (Chevy rearends suck to begin with). It is just an axle seal. No big deal except for the fact that they will have to remove the brakes on the offending side and the axle and replace it. It will take some time so be prepared to be without the truck for a bit.

Just got back from the dealer. They fixed it in 2.5 hours, but the mechanic forgot to reattach the parking brake. Is it just a cable or could he have left pieces off requiring me to make another trip down there? I hate when they miss stuff like that.

Yes, it's just a cable, behind your passenger side rear wheel. You could fix it yourself if he left the bolts attached. I would take it back and have them finish the job if it's not too far a drive.
