My engine blew on the freeway

Read about it in my post in the 3Geez section.

OMG, that's horrible Rich. And to think all of those miles we drove last weekend...
But at least it's just a 'somewhat' simple problem. I do agree that $800 is a ripoff.
So I guess this means that you're not driving to HIN on Saturday. I might have an extra seat, so if you were planning on going solo, and you still want to go, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

Good luck with all of that.

Yea, I know this bites. And it's $800 for labor mostly, that and there are a bit of other things that broke in the coolant system besides just the hoses. It's just the hoses that need to be replaced, there's going to be some welding going on down there for the rest of it i think.

About HIN, this whole repair has got me pretty much flat out broke now, so I'll have to pass this time .

Aww, this sucks. I'm so sorry....
Well there's always next year, and I'm sure there's gonna be some other shows up here in Nor Cal. You gotta get that fixed so you can come out to the races again soon!!

Keep us updated.

I picked up the Accord earlier this afternoon. She runs just as good as she did before the radiator hoses decided to pop.

You can look at the invoice in the other thread.

Wow, that was hella quick!! Geez, guess they know what they're doing at Elk Grove Honda. My car was bought at Autowest Honda in the Automall, and they were the people that inspired me to start changing my own oil. After my first 3,000 miles, I took it in to the dealership to get my oil changed, just like a good warranty-loving person should, right?
THREE FREAKING HOURS it took them to CHANGE SOME OIL. I said :finger4: that, and do it myself in 10 minutes. hehehe
I hate dealerships, they like to butt rape you and take forever. Guess you got lucky.

Anyways, congrats on getting your baby back, I'm just sorry about the dent it put in your bank account.
*sigh*
What we do for our cars....

Yea, they're pretty reliable (at least for me ). My dad bought the Accord from that dealership (they used to be South City Honda) and has taken it there for most of its major repairs, and for an occasionally lube job. I guess its a perk for being a customer for so long :P.
