Revell 1/8 1962 Corvette kit for approx 50$ - is this a good deal? Is the kit good? should I buy it? lazy/dumb question but pleeease advise anyway
![]() I've just left my LHS where I saw this kit lying on the floor gathering dust. Now I'm thinking to myself that even though I've got more kits than I'm going to build in the foreseeable future this is TEMTPING! I've ever seen one before and it seems to be full detail, engine kit and it is after all 1/8 kit for the price of two 1/24 Enzos?!?!? BTW there was a Revell 1/12 Testarossa next to it for about the same price Please give me some experienced feedback..Is this a normal kind of deal or am I in the 'barn find" area here? thanks in advance

Re: Revell 1/8 1962 Corvette kit for approx 50$
I have the kit (Sting Ray), it is good value for the money because it is huge but it is to simple for 1/8 kit it has ugly wheels, only front hood opens, it has to thick windows, it is full of mold lines and sink marks. But did I say it is huge
![]() Same goes for F40 and Testarossa in 1/12. |

The testarossa's a nice kit. Don't know about the Vette though. Should be a good deal for that size.

In the meantime I did a ebay search and I see that these things actually are available for even as low as around 20$ for a complete but started kit. Blownalcoholboy - maybe that could be an interesting source for parts on your build? I can PM you the auction if you are interested. My enthusiasm has cooled a bit since it seems it is not the "barn find" I had hoped it was, although I'd love to do one of these one day just for the fun of it, but then I'd prefer to do the E-type cos I just looooooove that car

I just saw the '65 in my LHS, but they want $85 for it. No thanks.
